Create Your Own Notebook Journal

Creating your own Notebook Journal will allow you to learn the basics of book binding and create your own Notebook Journal, based on the Eileen Hull Sizzix Notebook die. The class is run at the light-filled Mixed Media Arts Studio, in Mt Waverley (see here for details) Melbourne, Victoria, Australia.

    • cover from Sizzix board,
      using Eileen Hull Notebook die (663635),
    • elastic
    • wax thread
  • Access to Studios supply of awls, paints, stencils and foam stamps

  • Small classes, in a relaxed atmosphere with fantastic facilities

Supplies to Bring

Paper and ephemera to create your journal pages;
minimum 16 A4 sheets which can include:

  • plain papers
  • text and old ephemera
  • gel printed sheets
  • printed papers for scrapbooking

Tools to bring, if you own them (or share the studio tools)

  • awl
  • bone folder
  • cutting mat
  • paper trimmer (or craft knife and cutting mat)
  • ruler and pencil

Gel printing plate; prefer 8”x10” Gel Press or Gelli Arts brands
Brayer
– Selection of Paints; suggest 4 to 5 in similar colour range (all warms or all cools) plus a white or off-white
Impression making tools, including:
* stencils
* stamps with bold images or foam stamps
* sequin scrap
– Extra Paper to print onto, including a range of:
* A4 office paper
* printed ephemera
* scrapbooking papers
* tags
Paper towel or baby wipes
Apron or clothes to get painty
– sense of crafting adventure
