Gel Prints to Letter Journal, with Michelle, is a hands on class where we will create delightful painted papers with monoprinting, then bind them into a 4″ x 8″ letter journal, ready to decorate and share with friends. The class is run at the light-filled Mixed Media Arts Studio, in Mt Waverley (see here for details) Melbourne, Victoria, Australia.

Schedule

Arrive and setup from 9:30am
Class starts at 10am
– Introduction to gel printing
– Get hands on and painty, making our painted papers

Break for morning tea (11:15-ish)
– Continue getting painty
– Allow pages to dry

Break for lunch (12:30-ish)
– Binding our letter journal
– Begin decorating our journal

Break for afternoon tea (2:45-ish)
– Adding shadows and highlights
– Including feature / text
– Show and celebrate
– Pack up and finish by 4:00pm

• Over 6 hours of arty tuition and inspiration

Supplies to Bring

– Gel printing plate; prefer 8”x10” Gel Press or Gelli Arts brands
** NOTE: if you don’t have a gel plate to bring, please call Michelle on
0448 417 400 to discuss options**
– Brayer
– Selection of Paints; suggest 4 to 5 in similar colour range (all warms or all cools) plus a white or off-white
– Impression making tools, including:
* stencils
* stamps with bold images
* sequen scrap
* leaves
– Paper to print onto, minimum of 10 sheets, including a range of:
* A4 office paper
* printed ephemera
* scrapbooking papers
* tags
– Paint brushes; various sizes, 1 or 2 
– Paint palette
– Paper trimmer
– Stamps, inks, markers et cetera, for decorating your letter journal
– Paper towel
– Apron or clothes to get painty

Plus, bring your own lunch.
Morning and afternoon teas are included.

Plus the MMA Studio store will be open if there is something you need!
